Winter Makeup Tips for a Smooth Complexion
Routines can be difficult to start, much less maintain, but as an Esthetician/Make Up Artist I see this problem every time the winter comes into play. I suggest a gentle, milky cleanser and oil-free lotion (that’s if you have oily skin), and once a week exfoliate your face, to remove to dead skin cells, that will get in the way when your applying foundation.
After exfoliating, I recommend waiting five to 10 minutes for your moisturizer to really absorb into your skin. If you have to run, wait at least 2 minutes take a face tissue and lightly dab off any excess moisturizer.
Now, if you can not wait, not even 2 minutes, to help ensure a baby-soft finish, however, you can add a bit of lotion to your liquid foundation and smooth the combined elements onto your face. If after applying your foundation and finalizing it with a setting powder, if you see a dry spot, dab on some moisturizer on that small section and a little foundation and blend, then set it with a powder. There you have, a soft and smooth complexion… All Winter Long!
